The Tyler School of Art at Temple University has hired [the largest cohort of new faculty members](http://bit.ly/2retG0q?ref=hyperallergic.com) in the school’s history.

“I’m delighted to welcome this remarkable group,” said Dean Susan E. Cahan, who came to Tyler from Yale in 2017\. “They believe, as I do, in Tyler’s vision of cultural production as aesthetically and socially transformative action. I can’t wait to see what they’ll motivate our students to achieve.”

The new recruits—who appear left to right in the photo above—include:

- **C.T. Jasper**, whose art tackles legacies of cross-cultural encounters, integrating sculpture, installation art, sound and moving image.
- **Emily Neumeier**, an art historian of the Islamic world at the forefront of new technologies, from digital mapping to photogrammetry.
- **Mark Thomas Gibson**, a painter, printmaker, book artist, writer and activist whose work addresses U.S. history and racial politics.
- **Linda Earle**, a champion of inclusivity and freedom of expression in the arts and education. She will lead Tyler’s Art Administration program.
- **David Herman Jr.**, a lens-based artist, educator and scholar who explores perception as a social and political endeavor.
- **Mallory Weston**, whose practice marries traditional jewelry and textile techniques to create large, wearable metal pieces.
- **Pablo Meninato**, an architect and historian who has worked for leading architectural firms in the U.S, Argentina and Mexico for 20 years.
- **Doug Bucci**, an innovative metals and jewelry artist who will be Tyler Metals/Jewelry/CAD-CAM’s first new program head in 56 years.
