The University of Connecticut's (UConn) MFA in Studio Art is a funded, two-year graduate program combining advanced studio research with substantial undergraduate teaching experience. Students pursue independent creative projects while gaining professional development as educators through graduate teaching assistantships.

Located within a major research university, the program supports a broad range of practices, including painting, drawing, printmaking, bookmaking, sculpture, installation, and performance. Students benefit from recently renovated studios, extensive facilities, close faculty mentorship, visiting artists, and a collaborative graduate community.

Situated in Southern New England, UConn offers convenient access to the major cultural centers of New York City and Boston, as well as the arts communities of Hartford, New Haven, and Providence.

Funding includes tuition remission, a stipend, and subsidized health insurance. The program culminates in an MFA thesis exhibition at UConn's William Benton Museum of Art.

Apply by January 15, 2027.
