Abigail McEwen is associate professor of Latin American art history at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her book Revolutionary Horizons: Art and Polemics in 1950s Cuba (Yale University Press, 2016) describes the visual strategies of the vanguardia and the politics of Cuban abstraction.
