Brenda Goodman
Brenda Goodman was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1943. She moved to New York City in 1976 and was included in the Whitney Biennial in 1979. Since 1973, she has had 39 one-person shows and has been included in over 200 group shows in galleries and museums throughout the United States, most recently at the Jeff Bailey Gallery and David & Schweitzer Contemporary. Her work has been reviewed in many publications, including Art in America, The New Yorker, Brooklyn Rail, Huffington Post and Hyperallergic. She received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts. In 2015, she was included in the American Academy of Arts and Letters annual invitational and received an Award in Art. Since 2009, she has lived and worked in the Catskill Mountains.
