Elaine Tin Nyo
Elaine Tin Nyo is a conceptual artist with a kitchen and a studio in Harlem. Born in Burma, she learned to speak English watching Star Trek, to cook watching The French Chef, and art history by playing Masterpiece. Using performance, video, photography, cooking, writing and just about anything else, she reframes the everyday rituals of food and its preparation so we may reflect on the inherent beauty and value of the seemingly unimportant. Her current project, This Little Piggy, follows five piglets from five ham-eccentric regions from birth to ham. thispiglet.com. elainetinnyo.com, Instagram and Twitter: @thispiglet.
