While this exhibition exists in an austere white cube, far away from the heavy heat and kudzu of Virginia or Louisiana, the artist invokes the South through material and conceptual pull.
Noah Simblist
Noah Simblist works as a curator, writer, and educator. Most recently, he edited the new book Tania Bruguera: The Francis Effect (Deep Vellum, 2022) and co-edited Commonwealth (Publication Studio, 2022). He is associate professor of art at Virginia Commonwealth University.
