Former Chief Curator at the Jewish Museum in New York, Kleeblatt organized numerous exhibitons including the 2008 Action/Abstraction: Pollock, De Kooning, and American Art and the 2014 Mel Bochneer: Strong Language. He was co-curator with Kenneth E. Silver of the 1998 exhibition An Expressionist in Paris: The Paintings of Chaim Soutine.
