TACOMA, Wash. — The Art AIDS America exhibit at the Tacoma Art Museum intends to move away from postmodern interpretations of art towards enjoining the viewer’s empathy.

Painting, sculpture and drawing have dominated the means of artistic expression since the dawn of time. Of course now everything in between has been used as a medium, but since the big three have remained a staple, it’s been incredible to see a recent resurgence of using fashion objects as the raw materials for art.
In Charles LeDray’s workworkworkworkwork (that’s five in total) exhibition at the Whitney, the artist has created “MENS SUITS” (2006-2009), a replica of the shop floor of a thrift store in miniature.
