Yerba Buena Center for the Arts is now taking applications for its three 2017–2018 Fellow cohorts.
SAN FRANCISCO — Just around the corner from the newly expanded San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) — a veritable temple to wealth amassed in the form of contemporary artworks — the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts has mounted a very different kind of installation, one which monumentalizes activism.

SAN FRANCISCO — I will admit that it had been a long day filled with mundane tasks — conference calls, email catch-up, copyediting — when I wandered into the exhibition Office Space, currently on view at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
SAN FRANCISCO — In Agbogbloshie — also known as one of the world’s top polluted places and an e-waste dumping ground, located in Ghana along the African coast of the Gulf of Guinea — a young man by the name of Mohammed Camara scavenges for metal to earn money.
SAN FRANCISCO — It’s summer in the USA, and that means it’s group-show season on both coasts.
SAN FRANCISCO — What would a “Revolution Grrrl Style Now!” look like now, some 20 years after the punk Riot Grrrl movement blasted onto the cultural landscape?
SAN FRANCISCO — I visited during a hell of a week for the City by the Bay. With temperatures soaring into the 90s, the sounds of fans, ice cream trucks, and San Franciscans complaining about the heat wave and lack of air-conditioning filled the air.
SAN FRANCISCO — Text appearing in all capital letters suggests one of two things, either yelling or someone unable to unlock the Caps Lock key. While I remain unforgiving of this digital faux pas, the show WANT.HERE.YOU.NOW, currently on exhibit at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts certainly warrants attention (now, actually).
