Last month, another Williamsburg-based artist, 24-year-old Nicolas Djandji, was killed riding his bicycle eastbound on Borinquen Place and turning north onto Rodney Street.

These incidents emphasize the need for more dedicated bike lanes in north Brooklyn, which is home to a large concentration of cyclists, many of whom are part of the area’s robust creative community.
