Art by Graphic Rewilding Blooms at Brookfield Place in New York City
Bold and vibrant large-scale installations featuring blossoming flowers celebrate the natural world and bring the outside indoors.
Visit Brookfield Place and experience Fleeting Opulence by British artist duo Graphic Rewilding. The bold and vibrant large-scale installations transform the Winter Garden and surrounding spaces into an immersive celebration of the natural world. On view through October 2026, the work features a variety of larger-than-life flowers and cherry blossoms in full bloom that shift with the changing light, creating an ever-evolving environment. Both joyful and contemplative, the installation invites the audience to look up, slow down, and experience nature woven into the fabric of the city.
“Catherine [Borowski] and I met on a flight to New York, so it’s always a dream come true to get to display our work here. What many people often overlook is the unique ecology that emerges in the busy city,” said artist Lee Baker. “We’ve focused on the cherry blossom, which will be coming into bloom when the works will first be installed, as well as the honeybees that live peacefully on the building’s roof, among all the chaos of surrounding Manhattan. After such a difficult winter, we hope that these works can mark the beginning of a long and bright spring. Thanks again to Brookfield Place for giving us the space to spotlight this oft-overlooked nature in the middle of the city.”
Graphic Rewilding is the 2026 recipient of the Brookfield Place New York Annual Arts Commission. Founded by Catherine Borowski and Lee Baker, the art collective’s mission is to transform urban spaces with their vast, nature-inspired, immersive art.
