In Conversation: Will Wilson
In partnership with Art Bridges, the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey presents works by Will Wilson alongside historic photographs by Edward Sheriff Curtis. On view through August 23.

In partnership with Art Bridges, the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey is pleased to present In Conversation: Will Wilson, on view in the Main Gallery through Sunday, August 23, 2026. The exhibition brings together contemporary photographs by Diné (Navajo) artist Will Wilson (b. 1969) and historic images by Edward Sheriff Curtis.
Wilson’s work reexamines how Native peoples have been photographed and represented over time. Using modern photographic techniques and digital media, he responds to Curtis’s influential project The North American Indian (1907–1930), inviting viewers to reflect on questions of identity, visibility, and who has the power to shape the images we see. Through this dialogue between past and present, In Conversation offers a thoughtful and engaging look at photography’s role in shaping cultural narratives.
Running alongside this exhibition, the Visual Arts Center will also present Present and Growing, a solo exhibition by Gabriel Garcia Roman, in the Mitzi and Warren Eisenberg Gallery. Additionally, With Passing Years, featuring work by Chrystofer Davis, will be on view in the Marité and Joe Robinson Strolling Gallery I through June 7, 2026.
