Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity – Visual Arts Thematic Residencies
Develop your work in a Visual Arts residency at Banff Centre. Access exceptional studios, mentorship from leading faculty, and a vibrant artistic community in the Canadian Rockies. The application fee is $65 ($35 for applicants who identify as Indigenous). Read more on Hyperallergic.

Center for Craft – 2026 Craft Archive Fellowship
Four $5,000 awards will be offered to fellows conducting research on underrepresented craft histories. The fellowship will culminate with a featured article on Hyperallergic and a virtual program hosted by the Center for Craft. Read more on Hyperallergic.

The Curatorial Program for Research - CPR 2026: HELLO NEW YORK!
The Curatorial Program for Research (CPR) is pleased to announce its open call for HELLO NEW YORK 2026! The program will take place from June 15 to June 27, and select participants will receive a stipend of $400. The application fee is $45.

Light Work Artist-in-Residence Program
The nonprofit photography organization invites 12–15 artists to Syracuse, New York, to devote one month to creative projects every year. The residency includes a $5,000 stipend, a furnished artist apartment, 24-hour access to facilities, staff support, and more. The application fee is $10.

University of Texas at Austin – St. Elmo Arts Residency
One recent Studio Art MFA graduate will receive a $40,000 stipend, a private studio, and a house in South Austin. The artist will be expected to teach and lead workshops during the academic year, and will present a solo exhibition at the Visual Arts Center.

Open Calls for Art & Writing
GHOSTMACHINE Gallery - Annual Open Call 2026
Curated by MoMA Curatorial Associate Dominika Tylcz, this open call offers winners a two- or three-person show in Chinatown, New York City, this summer. 10 finalists will receive studio visits, and submissions will be considered for future projects. There is a $25 application fee.

Art in Odd Places 2026: UTOPIAS - Open Call for Proposals
Artists and collectives are invited to submit projects that propose speculative infrastructures for care, refusal, joy, and mutual recognition to be presented at the outdoor visual and performance art festival along 14th Street in Manhattan.

Recess - Critical Writing Open Call 2026
Critical Writing at Recess initiates meaningful exchange between artists and writers and supports the mutual production of new work. Participants receive a $4,000 stipend that includes compensation for the writing, collaborative work, and participation in cohort sessions.

The Vilcek Foundation – 2026 Open Call for Grants
US-based nonprofits that celebrate immigrants in the arts, sciences, education, or through the provision of social services are invited to apply for grants of $5,000 to $20,000. Read more on Hyperallergic.

3pts Artists & Makers Impact Fund
US-based mid-career artists and makers who create tangible objects or goods and are actively building sustainable creative businesses can apply for this $3,500 award. The application fee is $10.

Jonathan and Barbara Silver Foundation – 2026 Grant for Writing on Sculpture
The foundation will award one $20,000 grant to a writer who demonstrates a serious commitment to writing about sculpture, through fresh thinking on the history, aesthetics, purposes, imagination and/or situation of sculpture.

Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grants
This grant supports emerging and established contemporary visual arts writers. Ranging from $15,000 to $50,000 in four categories — articles, books, short-form writing, and translation — the grants support projects addressing both general and specialized art audiences.
