The School of Visual Arts’ Master of Arts degree in Curatorial Practice is a two-year program that focuses on professional training, with a thorough grounding in the relevant study of history, research, and theory. The program places an emphasis on hands-on work and professional networking, with the foremost goal of placing graduates in curatorial jobs. SVA takes full advantage of the vast number of arts institutions and professionals on its doorstep in Chelsea and throughout New York City, which provides countless opportunities for study, mentoring, and professional development.
Designed by internationally renowned architect Charles Renfro of Diller Scofidio + Renfro, in association with Leong Leong, SVA’s Chelsea space includes teaching, exhibition, and conference facilities, a library, lounge, and kitchen. SVA has created partnerships with institutions for educational exchanges and internships with leading colleges internationally, such as Goldsmiths in London, and museums all over the world.
With a rich program of visitors, panels, conferences, and exhibitions underway, SVA invites you to learn more about the program through its website — macp.sva.edu — or by attending an information session on November 3, 2014, at 6pm at SVA in Chelsea. You can also reach out directly in order to schedule a visit. Follow SVA Curatorial Practice on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
