We started Hyperallergic in 2009 as a new, independent space for writing about art and culture. Since then, we’ve introduced new voices to the field and challenged the art world status quo to become a leading and essential voice in contemporary perspectives on art, culture, film, and books.

With the latest art news, commentary, and criticism, we go beyond the surface to investigate the inner workings of art institutions and markets, shedding light on the movements and individuals fighting for inclusion and representation. 

We amplify underrepresented voices, pay writers fairly, and serve as a guide into the often-intimidating art world.
