Emily Carr University of Art + Design has a global reputation for art, design and media research and practice; a unique and thriving community in Vancouver, Canada, with competitive graduate programs in design and fine arts.

The university is seeking serious practitioners, thinkers, designers and artists for the Master of Design (Interdisciplinary or Interaction Design streams) and Master of Fine Arts (Full and Low Residency options) programs.

Graduate degrees are cultivated in a dialogic, critique-based environment that includes courses in studio practice, research and critical theory spanning diverse design and art contexts and approaches.

The new MDes Interaction Design stream encourages a range of context-driven, participatory based work addressing ethics, behavior insights, big data and the implication of new tools in connection with our research centers, local non-profit organizations, government, and industry partners.

Programs are for practitioners willing to take risks, think unconventionally, seek to foster change, and actively contribute to local and global conversations.

All graduate students are offered:

To recognize high academic achievement and artistic potential, several graduate entrance scholarships are offered to incoming students. In addition, a variety of research and teaching assistantship opportunities can offset tuition.
