Welcome to another day in the alternate timeline that we live in. One that includes the blurring of television and reality, but what did you expect from a man who has only been good at reality TV?
Today, US President Donald Trump unveiled the new logo for the US Space Force, and not only is it poorly designed (why is the date of establishment there and why is it in Roman numerals?) but derivative, as one would expect from the Trumps.
As you can imagine, George Takei, who played Hikaru Sulu on the popular television series, has some feels:
Ahem. We are expecting some royalties from this… https://t.co/msYcJMlqjh

Maybe Trump is a bad appropriation artist, which would explain a lot. Taking credit for the work of others with little critical thought is what Trump does — paging Obama.
Is anyone else totally and utterly exhausted with this presidency? You don’t have to answer. I know.
Oh, wait, maybe it was based on another logo from the George W. Bush years?
For those excitedly tweeting that Trump stole the Star Trek logo!!!!, the patch on the left was the existing Air Force Command logo.

Yup, but then again:
well, that was certainly the joke we made 15 years ago https://t.co/CSQZYbF8El

Right. Make light of the logo and ignore the militarization of space. Haha.
