Whatever artist Ai Weiwei’s deal is with the Chinese authorities about his participation on social media, it doesn’t appear to have included the newest kid on the social networking block, Google Plus.

The dissident Chinese artist has joined the tech giants social network recently and broken his silence on social media. Sure, Ai is best known for his Twitter account, which broadcast info and images to tens of thousands of people around the world, but since his release last month, Ai’s twitterfeed has been silent.

But to let us know that he hasn’t given up his sense of humor, Ai has added some timely commentary to the about section of his profile, according to Steven Millward of Penn Olson:

Ai Wei-wei has sneaked some cheeky humour into the ‘About’ section of his new G+ profile, describing himself as a “suspected pornography enthusiast and tax evader” – a reference to two of the many police charges leveled at him recently.

Add Ai to your circles here. Over 5,000 people have already added Ai to their circles, while Ai has been conservative and added only 21 individuals to his.
