Residencies, Workshops, & Fellowships
Exploratorium – Artist-in-Residence Program
Artists receive a $15,000 annual stipend, support for travel, project management and financial support for residency projects, and access to Exploratorium facilities and staff expertise. The application fee is $35.

Loghaven Artist Residency
Located on ninety acres of woodland in Knoxville, Tennessee, this program provides lodging in five historic log cabins, access to new, purpose-built studio spaces, and awards artists with stipends to support the creation of new work.

Peters Valley School of Craft Residency
This program is open to artists working in blacksmithing, ceramics, fibers, jewelry and fine metals, wood, and printmaking. Residents receive a $600 or $900 stipend to work in fully equipped studios for two or three weeks. Housing is included. There is a $10 application fee.

Open Calls for Art & Writing
The Bennett Prize – 2026/2027 Award Cycle
For women figurative realist painters. The grand prize winner receives $75,000 and a solo exhibition. The first runner-up receives $10,000. A five-person jury will select 10 finalists to be featured in a group exhibition that will travel the US. The application fee is $50. Read more on Hyperallergic.

Remuseum and the Doris Duke Foundation – The Vanguard Award/Accelerator for Innovative Arts Leaders
The $100,000 annual award will recognize up to 10 leaders who are exploring innovative ways to strengthen arts institutions, and a year-long accelerator (in partnership with MIT) will help them refine, implement, and evaluate those ideas.

Franklin Furnace – XENO PRIZE for Artists’ Books
Prizewinners will be selected from this open call to receive $5,000 to publish one artist’s book on the topic of book banning or burning.

National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) – Open Call for Exhibitions
Artists and curators from the US and abroad are invited to submit proposals for exhibitions to run concurrently with the 2027 conference in Baltimore, Maryland.

Hyundai Motor Group – The 7th VH Award
A global award for emerging media artists engaging with the context of Asia, featuring grants, a residency with Ars Electronica, and global exhibitions. Read more on Hyperallergic.

Asian Americans Art Alliance – A4 Arts Fund
Designed for organizations with annual budgets of under $500,000, the fund offers $10,000 and $15,000 general operating grants to support AAPI arts and cultural organizations.

James Renwick Alliance for Craft – Chrysalis Award
An emerging artist in ceramics will receive a $5,000 unrestricted award, a one-year JRACraft membership, and the opportunity to present their work at a JRACraft event.

Queer|Art – Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists
The annual $10,000 grant provides critical support to Black trans women whose work has often been under-recognized in the visual art field. This year, a $1,250 award will also be granted to four distinguished finalists.
