Russia Has Damaged or Destroyed Over 4,500 Cultural Sites in Ukraine
The National Art Museum of Ukraine and the Odesa National Fine Arts Museum are among the 141 museums and galleries affected.
Russian missile attacks have damaged or destroyed 1,990 cultural heritage sites and 2,625 cultural infrastructure facilities in Ukraine as of July 31, according to a statement from Ukraine's Ministry of Culture.
The affected sites include 196 arts education institutions, 141 museums and galleries, and historic sites on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Cultural institutions across 24% of Ukrainian territories and nearly half of the country's community cultural centers have been damaged during Russia's prolonged and deadly campaign.
