What does the membership program fund?
Members directly support our work and help protect Hyperallergic’s independence, allowing us to continue publishing quality arts journalism and criticism.
Every contribution emboldens us to challenge the status quo while shining a light on the movements and individuals fighting for greater inclusion and representation in the arts.
How do I join as a member?

How do I sign in?
Click the “Sign in” link in the top right corner. Enter your email and click “Continue.” We’ll send you a sign in code and magic login link that you can use to sign in to the website.
How do I unsubscribe from the free newsletter?
To unsubscribe from our newsletters, just click the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of our newsletters. You can also manage your newsletters in your account on the website. Note that
Do you offer gift memberships?
Yes we do! You can set up a gift membership here.
Is it easy to change or cancel my membership?
Yes. Members can sign in here to manage or cancel their subscription anytime. Or email us and we’ll help you out.
How do I turn off auto-renewal?
Memberships are pre-paid, but your subscription can be canceled allowing your membership to expire when the current year (or month) of membership ends.
How do I cancel my paid subscription?
Click the Account button in the top right of the website. Then Just click "Change" next to your subscription level, scroll to the bottom and click “Cancel subscription.”
We also offer full refunds for any unexpected annual auto-renewals within 30 days of the payment date. Just reach out to us at support@hyperallergic.com.
Can I support Hyperallergic with a one-time donation?
Yes! If membership is not for you, or you would like to make an additional contribution as an active member, you can make a one-time donation online in any amount.

Do you offer options for artists, students, and seniors?
If our membership is too much and you are a student, artist, or senior on a limited budget, email us to request a discounted membership, funded by our friend and patron members.
What are my payment options?
Transactions are processed by Stripe, which accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and other major credit cards.
Is my membership or donation to Hyperallergic tax-deductible?
Hyperallergic is not a non-profit so memberships are not tax-deductible. Our membership program is designed to deepen our relationship with our readers through direct support of our journalism.
How can I make a larger tax-deductible donation or contribute through a donor-advised fund?
If you are interested in making a tax-deductible donation through a donor-advised fund (DAF), foundation, or retirement account, please consider donating to Hyperallergic through our fiscal sponsor Investigative Reporters and Editors, a 501(c)(3) organization.
