New Directions at Greenpoint Gallery Night
For those who braved the cold, it was a pleasure to see the offerings on view in Greenpoint on Friday night. From the monochromatic graphic paintings of Andrew Guenther at Gallery 106 Green to the sculptural CMYK-color collages at Fowler Project Space, the night evinced a diverse and robust scene.

An excellent photography show at Yes Gallery was a draw for humans and canines alike. Booklyn exhibited a fascinating collection of art objects in Mike Taylor’s first solo exhibition NO/FUTURE. The warmth offered by the combination of hot toddies and the sense of community at small neighborhood galleries was magnetic. And Andrew Guenther, making an appearance at his show at Gallery 106 Green, went so far as to augment my gallery map, drawing in the coordinates of his local favorite, Janet Kurnatowski Gallery.
Greenpoint Gallery Night, of which Hyperallergic was a media sponsor, took place at various venues around Greenpoint, Brooklyn, on Friday, February 7.
